They also wanted to achieve equality among their nationality and others in America, as well as gain respect and influence throughout society. Many African Americans sought out after this dream by introducing new types of literacies and music, and joining multiple military groups. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Students will be researching their roles based on completed the success skills below:</li><li>Identify how the core principles of the American Dream are <strong>or </strong>are not demonstrated </li></ul><div>The core principles of the American Dream are demonstrated because America is becoming self sufficient and developing innovative and groundbreaking technologies and selling them to mass markets which in this case, Henry Ford is doing..</div><ul><li>I can determine <strong>how</strong> American society, as a whole, views the American Dream  <strong>(Idealized)</strong></li></ul><div><strong>American society knows that the American dream doesn’t necessarily pertain to them because they are not all making groundbreaking innovations that have a very major impact on society such as mass producing cars which were a new technology at a time to the public.</strong></div><ul><li>I can explain<strong> how </strong>the American Dream is sought after<strong>  (How people attempt to achieve the American Dream?)</strong></li></ul><div><strong>People attempt to achieve the American Dream through hard work and a relentless mentality in order to achieve their goals.</strong></div><ul><li>I can determine <strong>how</strong> the identities American society attempted to achieve the American Dream.</li></ul><div>Businessmen wanted the American dream by being relentless and hence working their way up the corporate ladder and earning more money.</div><ul><li>I can determine to what extent the American Dream was possible <strong>or</strong> not for African Americans to achieve </li></ul><div>Due to the discrimination of African Americans throughout most of the 20th century despite laws helping them, they didn’t receive equal treatment in the workplace and at times didn’t have the same opportunities as a wealthier white person did during the time period.</div><ul><li>I can explain to what extent one of the other identities in American society were able to achieve it I believe businessmen could achieve the American dream due to their relentless work ethic and mentality in order to be productive and ultimately make money.</li><li>I can reference the documents to provide evidence for the above success skills. </li></ul><div>You should be using chapter 13 in your books as well 432-459. </div><div>“With the production of the Model T in 1908, Ford pioneered the construction of a simple and affordable automobile for the masses.(provided doc)”  Also in the HSS textbook on page 448, it states,”previous attempts to establish a league for black players failed”. This furtherly proves the importance of a work ethic to be successful and how African Americans’ abilities to be successful were hindered through the continuation of discrimination even after slavery.</div><div> </div><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
