Thoroughly read, analyze, redraw most diagrams, and thoroughly describe each diagram you drew on the more complex Regent's material on causes of Moons phases, Ocean Tides & Eclipses. It's a lot to describe, draw, and understand. It's comprehensive and abstract so the more you draw out and describe, the better you will understand the material and the unit exam.

Video on why we don't get a solar and lunar eclipse every new and full moon every month plus other characteristics.

Watch the video and answer the following questions in your notebook:
1. What happens every 29.5 days?
2. What is tilted 5 degrees and why does that make it less possible to get eclipses every month?
3. If we get about 2.5 solar and lunar eclipses every year, why is it more difficult to see the 2.5 solar eclipses we get than the lunar eclipses?

This video has really good graphics for tidal cycles in a day of rotation along with gravity as a force. Answer the following questions:
1. how many high tides in a day of earth's rotation?
2. how many hours between high to high tide? between high to low?
3. why is high tide to the next high tide time not exactly 12 hours later but more like 12h and 50 minutes later?
4. what is the main cause of high and low tides?
5. what are spring and neap tides and what phases of the moon do they occur in?

What material is the moon mostly?
3. How does the Sun's light cause us to see moons phases on Earth?
4. How long does it take for the moon to go through all of its phases?
5. Is the new moon (no moon seen from Earth) CLOSER OR FARTHER from the Sun?
6. TRUE OR FALSE, the moon is up in the day too we just don't see it?
7. What phase comes after the new moon and is a crescent lit to the right?
8. The 1st 1/4 (ironically we see 1/2) is lit to the RIGHT OR LEFT?
9. Draw all the phases of the moon.
10. How many weeks from new to full moon and/or 1/2 of it's monthly phases?
11. After the full moon, what W word as the phases called?
