I think it should be a matter of choice. I wouldn't really know the feeling since I'm a guy but I think just like for underwear guys can choose whether or not they want briefs or boxers. It should bd a personal choice and should depend on the comfort of the person wearing it. Personally, for example, I'd prefer briefs when I have to go out but I know people who really like boxers even when they go out.

Some women might feel the need to wear a bra especially if it is used for weight support of the breasts. Others however do not need it. So it's really up to women if want to wear a bra or not. I don't think and I would wholeheartedly disagree that there should be a general standard for women to wear bras.
Pros:
-For weight support
-Cute/Really nice designs (hey, let's be truthful here.)
-Hides the nipples when they become erect because of the weather etc. (Again, let's be truthful here

Cons:
-Becomes very annoying when it gets hot
-Hassle when it comes to choosing clothes because then you would have to look for bras appropriate for your chosen clothing. (i.e. strapless bras etc. for off-shoulder tops)
-Suffocating
-Restraining

I think it should really be up to the person on whether to use a bra or not. Some women, especially with really big cup sizes would need to wear bras to be able to do their daily activities without hurting themselves, while girls who have smaller cup sizes might face lesser problems when not wearing a bra. It's really up to the person -- their outfit, their activities, their own tatas. (F, 19)

YES: Bras provide support, this is something that all women, especially those who are full-chested, understand and appreciate. Bras also have other functions such as accentuating our assets, that in turn boost our confidence.
NO: Having to wear Bras, especially when going out or when around other people, is a social construct. Wearing bras is a matter of preference, and should not be a necessity. All women know how uncomfortable bras can be -thus the meme of how women feel when removing bras at the end of the day.
(Female, Ateneo, 19)

Yes, but not all the time.

the ONLY (i repeat ONLY) "reasonable" reason for wearing a bra is IF THE GIRL WANTS TO. minsan kasi, preferable talaga. For example: going to the gym (masakit din yung pag-bounce ng boobs sa pag work out ah lalo pag malaki boobs mo); days when the breasts feel more sensitive than usual; feel mo lang dahil bagay sa damit; ETC.

Pero hindi siya necessity. And there's really no sense in this phenomenon where women are hiding their bodies for the convenience of men (or other people). Half of the world (the male population) can go just about anywhere topless. Why can't women? Let alone show the silhouette of their boobs?

Ang malungkot sa lahat ng ito, kahit alam ko at pinaniniwalaan ko ang mga ito, hindi ko na rin kayang lumabas nang bahay nang walang bra kapag halata sa suot na walang bra.

I think the feeling of "awkwardness" if we're not wearing bras (and thus, the "need" for it), is only because we were raised in a patriarchal society where we feel like we have to protect ourselves so people won't gouge their eyes looking at our private parts. With all respect, I don't even think breasts should be objectified and sexualized. They're not even sexual organs to begin with. They're mammary glands.

(Female, Single, 18)
