In today's world ICT or information communication technology is becoming a necessity for learners of the millennial generation. In our society today more children are exposed to technology at an early age as their first introduction to learning. Presently tablets and phones are replacing traditional forms of learning such as print media.
However implementing this form of learning in the classroom has to be planned carefully. we must consider how we are accessing pupils, providing the technology, educating students about netiquette and equipping the classrooms so that they would be functional.
Once these aspects are organised I am sure it will be successful in schools providing that the administration agrees.

thoughts on how wider use of electronic testing (e-testing) can impact teaching and learning in schools.

In today's world e-testing is the way of the future. With the new generation becoming more and more tech-savvy it is only the natural evolution of things. As Charles Darwin said it is the creature that is most adaptable to change will survive.
E-testing will be economical as it reduces the bill for labour and materials in the long run though initially the implementation of the technology may be expensive. Results will be more accurate and received in a timely manner as they may be automatically corrected.
However i do believe it should implemented to lower forms firstly and then let these students gain practice with this from of testing so when they are in from 5 they will be comfortable to do the exams. Also I would hope that this project will be monitored properly and not become prey to each successive government's fiscal policy and budgetary allocations to become a rotten carcass.

SAMR models - I can see that this model will equip students with a higher level of understanding as they go up the ladder. I like the way technology is not just substituted but the technology allows for real interactive communication in and out of the classroom. Students are encouraged to do research and browse for information as well as give their opinions, share pictures and videos much like what they are already accustomed to on social media platforms. This system is great once we have high speed internet and the students have their devices in class

This model is commonly used in schools. I myself use the various styles in one lesson plan. It is important to note that not all persons learn the same way. Hence it is necessary when planning a lesson to try and incorporate these various learning styles to ensure that the information from the lesson is understood and retained.

My thoughts on the ICT teacher professional development program.

This course was very informative and helped me view the use of ICT in the classroom in new way. In the beginning it was a lot of information to cover but it was manageable. Using ICT in an interactive way creates new ways in which the teacher can do assessments and thereby creating interest for the students.
Understanding the SAMR model allows teachers to effectively use ICT and encourage collaborative learning. Students are more likely to do research and create links globally which will encourage different perspectives.
I believe that this course is a step towards the future in education in Trinidad and Tobago. Schools should be outfitted with the proper infrastructure as in classroom layouts , furniture, power-outlets , computers, smart-boards and of course reliable internet access.
