This could be when a character is introduced, or when there is a big event in the story. Analyzing helps me stop and think about what is actually happening, and what I can predict will happen. The next strategy, was to read the entire story and then do synthesis. This proved to be one of the worse strategies I chose, because I had missed a lot of parts in the story and didn't understand well. I believe the best strategy someone can use would be the following: Before you read the story, read the title and the synopsis and make sure to know what you are about to read. Second, make sure you stop every chapter or so and make sure you understand what you are reading and infer. Lastly, when you finish the story, make sure to synthesize everything ad identify the climax, all the characters and what they did to help, and any other important events. They often have a clear rising action, climax, falling action and conclusion, they are often written revolving a main protagonist, and there is always side characters that help the protagonist. I made a connection to La Luna, because it was a story written about a young boy, his father, and his grandpa having a good time together. I can relate to this because me, my father and, my grandparents would always go out and look at the stars, and we would do everything together so I made multiple connections with this story. I realized that not all stories have a happy ending and some could act in a way that the reader doesn't expect. Almost every story has a clear lesson they are trying to convey, and they are all written in similar ways, with a clear rising action, climax, falling action, and conclusion. I had initially thought reading all these stories was going to be boring, but since it was all new content it was actually fun and interesting to read. I believe that the main reason stories are important is because of the impact they have on young children, and even adults. One aspect the majority of stories have, is that they always teach a lesson in a form of text. Whether is be teaching them simple manners, or more complex lessons, I believe that children and adults can benefit from stories because of this. The story I will link this to the short story, "Lamb To The Slaughter" by Roald Dahl. Expectations regarding gender and sexuality clearly influenced the identities of the cops and detectives in this story. I believe that the main reason they ruled out Mary Maloney as a possible suspect, is because of the fact she was a woman. People think of women as kind, loving individuals and i'm sure the cops and the grocer just believed she was being nice and genuinely being sad, so they didn't even think of her as a suspect at all.
