A asteroid is a a small rocky body orbiting the sun. Asteroids are leftovers from the formation of our solar system about 4.6 billion years ago. Early, on the birth of Jupiter prevented and planetary bodies from forming between the gap of Mar's and Jupiter causing the small objects that were to collide with each other and fragment into the asteroid's we might see any day. A meteoroid is a small rocky metallic body in outer space. Meteoroid's are signifficantly smaller than Asteroid's, and range in size from small grains to one meter wide objects. objects smaller than this are reffered as micrometeoroids or space dust. Comets are basically dusty snowballs that orbit the sun. They are made of iced such as water, carbon dioxide, ammonia and methane mixed with dust. These materials came around the tune the solar system was formed. Comets have a icy center surrounded by a large cloud of gas and dust.
