I think it is important to send astronauts into space because it helps scientists learn more about space and helps us develop new technologies. But before we do it, I think we should deal with Earth's problems. It's very important for the health and happiness of us Earthlings.

Pros                        
-it helps scientists create new
technologies because when
they create something to help
the astronauts live in space, it
can be used for other things on
Earth.

-people can't complain we aren't
spending enough on helping the
needy; tons of money is spent on
that every year, perhaps even more
than we spend on space travel.

Cons
-it isn't just the transportation to the
space station and the supplies there
that cost money - it's the transportation
back to Earth. Since those capsules are
destroyed when they are used, we have
to constantly spend money for new ones.
That can make it add up to more money
