         <description><![CDATA[<div>During my visit to the Royal Botanic Garden I was able to look around, listen and observed what was happening around me. While, I walk around I was focusing on what sound could I hear so I was carefully listening to any sounds and made sure that I was aware of it as well as recording it. As I was walking around I was able to hear the sound of a river flowing, birds chirping, the sound of the wind and I was also able to hear frogs croaking. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As I was walking around, I was seeing so many different movements happening in the place (garden). I was able to see so many different types of birds flying around the garden, I was able to see the trees, leaves, branches moving around as the wind was blowing. The river was flowing back and forth.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>How my interaction with this place creates new knowledge is that this place allows me and gives me an opportunity to gain knowledge about the place (garden), as well as the things that are in the garden such as different types of trees and flowers. <br>It is important that I discuss practices with colleagues, meet with parents to consider curricula and plan events as well as reflecting and documenting student work. <br>It is also important that I use documentation to make children’s learning visible to parents, community, and the children themselves. Documentation serves as an assessment tool and a stimulus for further learning. <br><br></div><div> </div><div>How I can use my experience with this place for my own professional practice or how I will create opportunities and possibilities for my students is that since I now know the benefits of a place-based learning, I will definitely take my students outside in a way that will benefits their learning.</div><div>Some of the benefits of a place-based learning-</div><div>-       Students can gain better appreciation and understanding of the world around them.</div><div>-       Increases their engagement with their communities</div><div>-       Students are being challenged to see the world through ecological, political, economic and social lenses</div><div>-       Students can meet deeper learning outcomes<br>-       It also gives students an opportunity a ‘voice and choice’ in determining what, how, when and where they learn</div><div>-       It allows tailoring learning to each student’s strengths, needs and interests</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Arts Language</div><div>Reading- Reading about the place was educative. Reading allows me to observe the information about the historical place and gain a lot of knowledge. </div><div>Listening- listening the sounds that are in the place was a new type of learning. By listening it allows me to connect with the place in a deeper level and understand more of my place. <br>In Reggio approach, teachers believe in a pedagogy of listening (Rinaldi,2011). </div><div>Viewing- looking around the place and seeing the place in person was quite an experience. It allows me to appreciate and understand my place.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It made me realize how important it is for a teacher to have a sense of place and connect with that place since a sense of place is when we involved in the act of creation with place. As a teacher, the only way I can develop my understanding of place as a teacher or the pedagogical in place is to be in and with place, so it was a valuable time for me to spent in that place because It allows me to deeply experience the world around me in a meaningful way. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The parallaxis is an invitation to experience the city differently. It is an ongoing game that anyone can play.</div><div>In this game, the ordinary gives ways to small moments of the extraordinary, transmuted by a magic that need not be invented, only allowed.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>The game is played by waking, simply walking, through a place with no intent other than to play. You might want to take an hour, take a day, or take whatever time belongs to you. Maybe you think you never have time for walking but make away and find a way to make it. You may be surprised by your ability to conjure. </div><div> </div><div>As you walk, allows yourself to relax into the place. Allow the place to relax too to make something other than sense. This shift might usually take about twenty minutes to achieve.</div><div> </div><div>Eventually you will pause, and perhaps smile, at something that has entered your awareness. Sight, sound, smell, sensation or concatenation thereof. For me, while I was walking around in the garden, I was seeing so many cactuses and my face was already lifting up with a smile because I love cactus and I was so happy to see them. In any other circumstances, this moment could likely be mundane. But now it is essential; it is perfect.
