However, what makes reading really difficult for me is when I don’t find that specific book or material interesting. I can re-read a certain line or text literally hundreds of times but my mind will still not process it. Having a limited amount of time to read and understand a piece of text can also make the reading more difficult.

Even though I mostly read light novels, I still begin my reading journey with research. I often look through dozens of reviews and recommendations just to narrow down my options. Afterward, I take a moment to preview the novel’s synopsis before finally settling on one. When reading light novels, my goal is to have a good time and enjoy myself. I don't focus too much on analyzing the text's structure and such; I just go with the flow and let my imagination run wild. 

However, when dealing with formal or academic texts, I start by previewing various sections such as the introduction and headings to gain a basic understanding of the text's content. While reading, I actively engage by taking notes and highlighting main ideas, key points, and important terms. At the end, I make it a habit to summarize the text in my own words, which helps retain the information better.

I've also noticed that finding a comfortable and quiet place to read makes a big difference in how well I can focus and enjoy what I'm reading. Engaging actively with texts through visualization, analysis, note-taking, and summarization also makes my reading more effective.

Reading effectively is a process. I started reading way back in Kindergarten but I only found my reading effectively when I’ve tried different practices of reading and been consistent on what works on me the most. Picking a comfortable position and silent place to read, using a dictionary, and taking notes are the practices I do to make my reading effective.
