My pieces explore the parallels between the unfiltered joy of childhood and that of romantic love.

Strengths:

• Speed: you're fast, create many iterations (keep the options coming). Submit more than one version of each piece if you want.

• Brush strokes, marks: what connection can you make between the fresh expressive marks and that unfiltered joy?

• Texture: pushing texture to represent elements of portfolio (thick textures show ___?)

• Layers: covering and uncovering (this is how you show filtered/ unfiltered). The best show something is through contrast (clear/ obstructed view)

Materials/ Processes:

• Process: Using that messy, joyful kid-like approach with materials.

• Materials: streamers, balloons, flowers, nail polish, lipstick, candy, treats, party decorations, toy instructions, toys, play dough, creative mess

• Process can be connected back to materials by painting with them, make rubbing, prints, use as background

• Consider staging, taking a photo of art in a setting.
