I had first-hand experience in broadcasting during my mandatory 120 hours internship. To prepare myself for the workshop, I watched several Youtube videos to aid and enhance my knowledge in simple broadcasting with OBS. Below was one of several videos that I watched to prepare.

In the video, the uploader explained how to set up a simple OBS session, as well as how to use a green screen.

Batrisyia is an aspiring RF and Acoustical Engineer. She has been interested in music and sound from a young age. She enrolled into LASALLE's Diploma in Audio Production course in hopes of pursuing Game Audio as she was previously studying Games Design.

As broadcasting and live streaming has become a new norm, live sound engineers, like myself, had to pick up new skills to keep up with the changing times.

My objectives for the workshop were

Set up video and digital camera, and connect to the MacBook and OBS.

Connect boom microphones to devices and lapel microphones on presenters

Set, adjust and improve lighting for broadcasting.

Understand the signal flow of a broadcasting set-up.

In Audio Production, we would constantly be drawing signal flows for any projects and performances we had. I believe that the most important thing when it comes to any technical set up is to understand the signal flow/schematics. With such a document, setting up will be easy.

Prior to the workshop, I had hosted a mini-workshop to the NorthLight School's Student Council team on how to use the sound mixer and how to connect the microphone to the sound console for their daily morning school announcements. I have also helped the school in testing out their old equipment to ensure that it is still working.

Overall, I think the workshop was fruitful. I felt that the workshop went smoothly and better than I had anticipated. I have always had a fear that the people around me know better than I do. However, everyone was eager to learn. Initially, the workshop was supposed to take place on the 9th of April 2021, Friday but I had a severe allergic reaction the night before and the Head of Department told me to host the workshop on the 16th of April instead.

As an improvement, I think that I should have come better prepared by printing out handouts of the content I was teaching on that day. I should have prepared a handout with step-by-step instructions on how to operate and set up the camera and software followed by a signal flow or schematics of the workflow. During the workshop, one of the teachers was recording the workshop to compile into a step by step video for future reference.

At the end of the workshop, the English Head of Department gave me a gift (the school's graduation teddy bear and Ferrero Rocher) as a thank you for hosting the workshop.

As I am doing this workshop/project alone, I had to do most of the research and lesson planning by myself.

Although most of what went on during the workshop were on the spot and spontaneous, I did some prior preparation and had notes on what to go through during the workshop

The teacher that I had communicated with told me that the main areas that they find important to learn were how to use a green screen with OBS and how to set up their new camera and audio equipment with OBS.

Below were some of the notes I had referred to during the workshop.
