Both stories have very similar plots, the main character gets bullied, or attacked by their family. Then after they have gotten bullied or attacked, they meet a man that helps them, and then they get married. Another comparison is that both of the stories, the sisters and the stepmom, both hate that the main character is more pretty than they are, which causes them to attack them.

The Abenaki Cinderella Story is about three sisters, the youngest sister Sootface, gets bullied by the two older sisters. In their village there is a story about a nice hunter that has never been seen before. One night after getting bullied Sootface runs out and sees the hunter. A part of the hunter's story is the first woman she sees he will marry. Then in the text it says," So she became his wife"(Native American). The sisters got karma for saying she is ugly, because she got married first.
