On record, it has the highest number of waste being dumped annually. This causes many naturally occurring dams and other habitats to suffer greatly. The animal life has been degrading heavily due to the decline in quality of their ecosystem.
Mistreatment: Humans are creating too many man made facilities that destroy a majority of the wild life. As a result of these structures the pollution given off is at an all time high. This allows for vast timber growth and efficient crop growth.
Transportation: The Mississippi River allows for efficient and effective transportation. In fact, a major 10% of the world's crops are transported through the entire river. It also provides excellent tourist attractions and nature walks.
