Teachers can review their district and school digital policies, and present them in a comprehensive way to students. This could involve a breakdown of policies into age-appropriate language and/or allowing small groups to rewrite the policies in their own words. There is also an abundance of online curricula available to guide students through digital citizenship skills. An example of this is Common Sense Media which provides a free training for teachers and also pdf versions of lessons for students. Also make sure students know that it is okay to approach an adult when they think they may have misused technology or found something inappropriate. Participating in brain games such as crossword puzzles, sudoko, and other pattern recognition games/activities. Incorporating algorithms within the classroom foster computational thinking. Thinking about sequence in a story you read and then talking about it as a class is a way to develop computational thinking skills. Another way within the classroom to grow these skills is give students facts or questions they need to answer from a longer movie. This teaches them to single out what is important and decipher what they really need, abstraction. Finally, allowing students to work creatively in groups and bounce ideas off each other to foster these skills.

One way to do this is to utilize youtube and google crash courses on different creative sites; word, padlet, Flipgrid, google docs, and etc. These videos and broaden your knowledge on these creative outlets and  provide you with tips to improve how you communicate through them. Another thing to facilitate these skills is to utilize visuals including charts and diagrams within platforms to help communicate your ideas and connect with your audience. Finally, taking time to yourself to think and collect your own individual thoughts and ideas. Doing something as simple as this allows you to creative individual ideas that are unique and bring something new to your audience.

The opportunity for students and educators to stay in communication with individuals outside of their own culture is a great tool. It is very important for students to be exposed to these opportunities and have a deeper global awareness and understanding of other cultures. There is no better way to learn about another culture than to interact with someone who lives in it.

This would be a great way to help your students see what a culture outside of their own looks like.
The second way to incorporate global collaboration as an educator is creating a lesson plan for your students that gives them insight on the culture you are studying. This helps students not feel lost when communicating with other students from those parts of the world. My last thought of how an educator could incorporate global collaboration is by providing the needed resources to connect with other students in different cultures. First, we had students see what other cultures looked like by showing videos and pictures. Then, we taught them about the culture throughout the lesson, and now we have the students start their personal global connection. With technology growing in the classroom, there are many different ways a student can collaborate with another. One interactive example could be Pen Pals, where students write emails back and forth to one another. The teacher just has to provide the the computer, students email, questions to ask one another, etc.
