Stalin & Zedong guarantee support for this course of actions.
This makes North Korea overconfident in their military power, due to the promised support of 2 superpowers.
June 25 1950: North Korea fires massive artillery barrage into South Korea, and hundreds of thousands of soldiers pour across the border.
This marks the first attack of the Korean War, and also signifies one of the biggest opening attacks in history.
September 15, 1950: X corps stages a landing at Inch’ŏn, succeeds, and liberates South Korea’s capital, Seoul.
This seemingly simple trick had a bigger effect on the war than it seems. It proved, not only that North Korea had weaknesses, but also that they were outnumbered & surrounded.
Dec. 6, 1950: U.S. marines initiate a fighting retreat against 2 chinese armies, who were sent specifically to destroy the 1st Marine Division.
January 4, 1951: Chinese & North Korean forces retake Seoul, the capital of South Korea.

The merciless actions on both sides, reactions & opinions of WW2 veterans, and the overall nation-wide destruction is appalling to think that it happened just 70 years ago. We think that these conflicts happened so long ago, and yet we sadly see them repeated so often even in modern day.
