Another unique characteristic of squamata, is that their skull and jaw is jointed in a way that allows them to consume larger prey as well as provide a stronger bite. All squamata are also cold blooded which provides them the ability to regulate their body temperature through the surrounding environment. All squamata also have a 3 chambered heart.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Found on only 5 islands in Indonesia, mainly live in tropical savanna forests but leave to find food on beaches and mountain tops. The Komodo Dragon can grow up to 10 feet long 300 pounds. It has 60 razor sharp teeth, sharp claws and have the ability to inject venom into its prey. Some of their behavioral traits include, swimming to neighboring islands to find food and hunting in groups.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Commonly found on plains and dense rain-forests of India, Southern China, and Southeast Asia. They live in trees, land, and water. Can grow to be 4 feet or 18 feet long. The most distinctive characteristic of a king cobra is its hood. They are one of the most venomous snakes, have smooth scales and are found in many different colors. King cobras can stand up on one third of its body length while charging forward on a attack. The King cobra also hisses when it feels threatened, the hiss sounds like a growling dog and mainly eat other snakes.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The speciation taken place in squamata is punctuated equilibrium because squamata have abruptly developed into many different species. The evolution is also divergent because many of the different species have different traits, however they share similar ancestors. Evolution is also happening through adaptive radiation and immigration. Squamata that are now land animals have ancestors that used to be aquatic animals. This means that the aquatic animal must have needed to change habitats and go to land.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Darwin's theory of Decent with modification is shown in squamata though lizards because they share the same anatomy because of a common ancestor but because of decent with modification the lizards have some differences. The type of natural selection is also stabilizing because the traits in squamata are not drastically changing over time.</div>]]></description>
