It was a war during 1955-1975. Many people died. Also, it was a conflict that pitted the communist government of North Vietnam against South Vietnam and its principal ally. Both sides wanted the exact same thing: a unified Vietnam.

Was this an open conflict or crisis: Why and explain.

I think it is both an open conflict, because, it was a bloody war and a crisis, because it was like an emergency as well cause, people had to either hide or even evacuate their home land. More than 3 million people (including over 58,000 Americans) were killed in the Vietnam War, and more than half of the dead were Vietnamese civilians.

I think that it did affect the social, economic, military and also political conflicts during the Cold War because more than three million people (including over 58,000 Americans) were killed in the Vietnam War. This event also included the Domino Theory. By 1962, the U.S. military presence in South Vietnam had reached some 9,000 troops, compared with fewer than 800 during the 1950s.
