Once upon a time, there lived a couple who was suddenly blessed with children, gracing their once barren home with laughter and joy.

Amongst these children, there was a little blossom that stood out the most.

She was born on the cusp of summer and fall, right when the leaves are beginning to turn a shade the colour of sunshine and when the flowers were beginning to loose their bloom. It has always been a joke amidst the family that the child had stolen all of summer’s grace and beauty when she was born.

Rightfully so, from the first cry she let out, it seemed like the most joyous breeze of summer, filled with innocent and rays of the sun. It made everyone around her laugh too; it was contagious. She was sunshine impersonated and she was rightfully named so too.

Growing up, Yoona was always the sheltered and protected youngest child of the Park household. It was an attempt to shield her from the evil of the world and in turn, protect her much coveted and rare innocence but Yoona was always a curious child. More than often, she would be playing in the gardens, building mud houses, climbing trees and hanging out with the servants because her siblings had always been too busy for her. She found company in people but more so, she developed to love her own company; it was fun being alone, you could read, eat, go on strolls and daydream so much!

She was loved immensely and to keep the smile that shamed the sun on her face, she was fed on every whim and want even if she wanted no more than the ripest peach, a new book or new threads to embroider with. Her biggest supporters have always been her brothers and older sister; she was the apple of their eye and it was a promise they would keep till their very last breaths.
