For example in the article, “The zoo’s store emergency supplies of food, water and fuel, and when a storm is getting closer to land, they would stock up on dry ice to keep medication and food cool.” This proves how they describe how they prepare well for hurricanes.
The text structure for “Zoos prepare for a hurricane.” Because the problem is that if there is hurricane during a zoo it shows a problem. But the solution is that they have all of these safety cautions to fix the problem. Also the flamingo shows a solution of staying in the bathroom during the hurricane Andrew , which makes hurricane andrew the problem or conflict

I believe that it is problem and solution because the problem is with the hurricanes and the solution is with the some of the animals being placed in public places so they are safe, also being placed in more private places. The text states, “Most coastal area zoos now have emergency preparedness plans to keep their animals safe during major storms.” This explains that they already have places where the animals could evacuate to so they wouldn’t get hurt during the storm. Another piece of evidence is, “For example, during Hurricane Andrew, the staff of a Florida zoo placed their flamingos in a public restroom because it was a heavy stone structure and provided plenty of water for the birds.” This shows that they use public places to help the animals.

The text structure the author uses in this article is Problem and Solution. I believe this because when you here that a hurricane will hit where you live you don’t know think alot about it but for small zoo animals all over the United States and around the world pledge to be a problem. One detail from the article that shows this is “
When a big hurricane is coming, humans often evacuate the area so they will be safe. But what do you do with the wild animals that live in a zoo?”. This shows that when hurricanes animals have no clue what to do for safety. Over time zookeepers started to create creative solutions to this problem for example , the text states , “during Hurricane Andrew, the staff of a Florida zoo placed their flock of flamingos in a public restroom because it was a heavy stone structure and provided plenty of water for the birds.”. This shows a creative solution for flalimogs to surge the harsh storm.
