Hi, My name is Abby Fielding. A few things that make me unique are that I like to draw and paint, I love many different types of music, with rock and metal being my favorite genres. I love The Lord of the Rings and I have been enjoying the movies ever since I was a kid. Five words that describe me are: kind, creative, unconventional, patient, and independent. I say that I am kind and patient because I always am looking out for others and if someone truly needs help I will take all the time that it needs to help them, even when others would get frustrated. I am creative and unconventional because I like to make things and I like and do things that others do not find typical. Finally I am independent because I do not care what others think and would rather do my own thing alone if it meant I would be happy rather than do whatever just to fit in. I wanted to take this class because I am a huge LOTR fan and would like to take a closer look at the story. I am hoping to learn more about Tolkien, and how he came up with the story way before stories of this nature ever became popular. I already know that the original books were written in the first half of the 20th century, and I know the basic plot lines of the original series and The Hobbit. Attached is a photo from my senior photoshoot.

Hello Everyone, my name is Miles Fahey. What makes me a unique individual is the love I have for music. I have been obsessed with music since I was a little kid. Five words that sum me up are Generous, Funny/Goofy, Rambunctious, Understanding, and Music. I choose these five characteristics because I feel as if this would best describe who I am as a person. I decided to take this course because it would make my brother jealous I'm taking this course and because I grew up watching these films. I'm definitely more of a hobbit fan, but I still love and appreciate the Lord of the Rings. I hope to learn a lot about the films and how insane it was to create these films. I do know a lot about these films and have read the hobbit twice when I was younger. I know about behind the films because my older brother telling me new and cool things I never knew about.

Hi, my name is Lexus Toth. I'm 18 and a senior at my school,. I cannot wait to graduate and start my years at college. Things that make me unique is my love for softball. I have played softball since I was 6 years old. I have played since then my father was even a coach for me when I was younger and I cannot wait to play softball in college. Five words that describe me is funny, weird, family, loud, and softball. I chose these five words because I'm always doing something that is weird and funny, I'm also loud most of time so sometimes people think that I'm annoying. I chose family because they mean everything to me, seen as how I have a lot of my loved ones come and go, and watched my parents struggle with cancer as well. Softball was another one but that is because it is my passion and I don't know what I would do without it in my life. I chose this course because I have seen all of the films as least a dozen time but I have never read the books because I don't like to read if I'm being honest. And I would love to get a closer understanding about it and learn some new things that I haven't yet about the series. Attached below is a senior picture of me with my dog, who is a 17.5 months old pure black lab, Cooper.

Hi, I'm Alex. I'm a unique individual due the the fact that unless you believe in the multiverse, it would be literally impossible for someone to have all the exact same memories and physical features that I do, since even if they were identical, they couldn't have occupied the exact same space as me since I'm a solid, meaning they would be in a different place giving them a different experience, which makes both of us unique individuals. Also I have a tendency to do my best to answer questions without actually answering them, but you probably got that bit already. My five words to describe me would probably be intelligent, lazy, sarcastic, honest, and SARCASTIC. I have an incredible capacity to learn things quickly, although I struggle to do so in an online format. This natural intelligence means most things are fairly easy for me, so I get used to it and don't want to do work which is why I'm lazy. I tend to use sarcasm to hide my pain and emotions, but will always answer a direct question truthfully. Also, I'm very sarcastic, so the capitalized version adds emphasis. I've never read The Lord of the Rings, but I wanted to, so I figured I'd use this class to at least become acquainted with it. I'm hoping to just learn about the plot. I know plenty of stuff, but very little about the class. My knowledge basically equates to 'a little dude throws a ring in a big hole.' I'm well known for my sarcastic T-shirts, which is why I chose to include a picture of some of them.

Hello my name is Emma Felland. I am from Ontario with a really small town about 30 minutes from La Crosse. I am a senior in highschool and I am attending UW- Platteville in that fall and majoring in Criminal Justice. I love to sing and I am very active in my school's theatre program. Also I love to cook and bake. I have been thinking about taking up making jewelry in my spare time!?! Five words I would use to describe me would have to be kind ( because I always try to be nice to others), loving ( I always but others feelings before mine ), curious ( I always want to learn new things and I love exploring ) , compassionate ( because I try to always but myself in other people shoes ) ,and fiery ( because I will stand up for what I believe in and stand for the people I love). I choose to take this class because honestly I love the Lord of the Rings books and my mom is a total geek about Lord of the Rings so I thought it would be a fun class to tell her about. I am hoping to learn more about the author of the books and how the books were written. I know what happens in the books and how it ends. I chose this picture of me becuase its a good picture and shows who I am

Hey, I’m Walter Webinger, a senior in Wisconsin. I personally love 3D art, specifically I enjoy modeling 3D objects and texturing them. Five words that would describe me would include, perceptive, imaginative, detailed, organic and persistence. Although not always the strongest I personally believe I have a strong perception of the inner workings of ideas and concepts that have recognizable relationships. I would say that in tandem with being perceptive I also have a knack, or even fault, for being very detail oriented. This works well with being thorough when working on different projects. This is mainly utilized when it comes to using my more creative aspects like my imagination, which I use often when it comes to thinking out connections between ideas and projects. Finally I would say I’m organic as the best work I produce is when it comes naturally to me, and my thoughts are able to be illustrated through my own interests on a certain subject. I chose to take this class specifically because I have always held Tolkien’s work in high regard, and since it’s been a while since I explored the world in detail from when I was younger I thought it would be fun to see how my perception of it has changed and grown with me. I’m hoping to learn more about the structural worldbuilding that is present within The Lord of The Rings, and fill in the blanks about the story that I’ve since forgotten. My knowledge of the series is mainly of some of the major story beats, scattered scenes that provoked me to remember them, as well as very basic history of some of the events in Middle Earth.

The picture provided represents me not only because of it showing off my own 3D modeling and texturing skills, but also because the shovel represents my more physical and manual upbringing which has led me to understand the importance of hard work.

Hello my name is Andrew Jevne. I am a senior from Menomonie high school in Wisconsin. I love to cook and make lots of food for my friends and family. Five words that would describe me would include, persuasive, creative, charismatic, outgoing and sarcastic. My parents call me persuasive because I can almost always swing a discussion in my favor. I am also very creative. When I cook I always love putting my own spin on certain types of foods to see if they would taste good or not. One could say I would put pineapple on pizza. I would call myself charismatic because I can naturally lead people and get along with whoever I meet. I would say im outgoing because I love to travel and meet new people from all different parts of the world. Im the type of person that will strike up conversation on a plane ride if we are sitting next to each other. I am also very sarcastic. I love making people laugh to make the mood better and if I ever get a chance to make a joke I will take advantage of the opportunity. I took this class because I love the story of middle earth and all of the different types of beings in it. In this class I want to learn more about the languages in middle earth and how they are used. I have seen all of the movies and read the first Lord of the Rings book so I think I know a lot about middle earth but I want to learn more. The picture below is someone cooking and I love cooking.
