This picture represents how important plants are to the function of our society and environment for many reasons. First of all plants provide us with oxygen, which is vital for humans to survive. Without the oxygen provided by plants we would not stand much chance of survival. Also many plants are the main food source for our main food sources. For example, cows eat grass. Without the grass the cows would have a more difficult time finding the right food to eat, which would lead to malnourishment. Many people eat beef on a regular basis. If our cows were malnourished we would not have enough beef or quality beef to go around.

I chose this video because it breaks down the process of photosynthesis in a way that is easy to understand. It goes into the details of each part of the process so it gives a full understanding of what photosynthesis is and why it is important. I also thought the visual models they used were helpful in making the process easy to comprehend.

Ferns are a common type of pteridophytes found in Georgia. There are actually many different "families" of ferns that can be found throughout the state. The one depicted below is a mountain spleenwort, also known as Asplenium montanum, and is part of the spleenwort family of ferns. This specific group of ferns is more suited for moist, shaded areas and grows best in limestone, sandstone, and rock crevices in granite.
http://extension.uga.edu/publications/detail.cfm?number=B987-2

I think that the deciduous forest biome is in danger of ecological change. Not only do humans tear down many of these forests for lumber and to build things, but climate changes have also effected these forests negatively. Warmer weather can extend the growing seasons and cause the areas to experience droughts. Wild fires from warmer weather also pose a threat to the deciduous forests.

This diagram lists many of the effects that the neolithic revolution had on the human population. The domestication of plants laid a foundation for the human population to abandon their nomadic ways and settle down in one area. This allowed for structure to occur within the population, and form groups of people such as cities and governments. The neolithic revolution was a key turning point in allowing the human race to become what it is today.

It allowed the crops to be modified to grow faster, yeild more fruits, and basically become better all around.

This image represents the way I think our world will be if our practices go unchecked. I think there will be many buildings and cities with few trees, grass, or any flora left. Technology becomes increasingly more of an important part in our society every day, and I think that that will only continue in the future.
