Hi there, I'm Mimi and will be start a part time role this terms as a Learning & Support Teacher at Inner Sydney High School. As a new co-ed comprehensive public school, it opened in 2020 with a staggered intake of Year 7 students who continue to transition as the oldest cohort as Year 10 students this year.
I undertook my 9 week final prac in this School in the VA/CAPA faculty and feel fortunate that I'm somewhat familiar with the context and some of the students.

Howdy! My name is Jeannae, pronounced "Ja-nay", which is French but I am not! I was born and raised in Texas where I started my teaching career but moved over to Australia 5 years ago. While teaching in Texas my speciality was in Debating and Public Speaking and I currently work at an Independent School in Sydney coordinating all their Debating and Public Speaking activities. When I'm not teaching or working on Uni assessments, I love to read. My favourite reads tend to be Sci-Fi or Suspense/Mystery. One of my favourite books is Red Rising by Pierce Brown, which is part of a 6 book series (Sixth book to be released May 2023 and I can't wait), and I recommend it to anyone who likes sci-fi/fantasy (similar to The Expanse). Prior studying this course, I conducted a range of work with primary school aged children. These included nannying, basketball coaching, running our churches kids club and being a teachers aid for a kindergarten classroom. It was all this prior experience that brought my attention to wanting to become a school teacher.

Hi, everyone,
Like most of you, I am in the final year of my MTeach studies. I am double majoring in Mathematics, so hopefully, be a secondary Maths teacher after graduation. I am currently in the process of applying for Conditional Accreditation from NESA. When this is done, I shall be starting Casual Teaching towards the second half of the year.
I had been working as a Telecom Engineer in Optus before making a career change to teaching. It is a big life change that I am looking forward to.
As for this course, I would expect it will help me to better prepare myself for a teaching career by exposing me to some of reality challenges faced by many initial teachers and learning ways to cope with them.

Like most of us, I’m near the end of my Masters of Teaching (Secondary) degree, I'm specialising in Visual Arts. I have a background in Fashion and Textile Design, Graphic Design and Makeup artistry.

I’m currently teaching at an all girls Catholic school in Western Sydney in a job-share position with my mentor teacher where I completed my first prac mid year in 2021. I taught at the same school last year in a part-time job-share while I continued my Masters degree part-time. I’m looking forward to returning there this year especially since my mentor teacher and I have been given ALL art and visual design classes!!

I feel very lucky to have been able to continue my experience from my first prac placement into part-time employment, which has given me the opportunity to develop collegial relationships within the CAPA department and staff. It has also given me the time to get to know my students better, build a better rapport with them, and see their social and academic progress over a course of a couple of years.

I'm Grace, and up until starting this teaching degree I was working and studying as a musician for several years.

I just finished PE2 last term, Term 4 2022, at Balgowlah Boys High in the Northern Beaches area as a music teacher for Years 7-12. It was really interesting working at an all-boys school after my first placement at a co-ed school, and I loved the school's approach to teaching classroom music which was really hands-on and engaging. I was hugely challenged and learned so much, especially from the music and other arts staff there who were amazing teachers, and the kinds of teacher I want to be (eventually with time and experience haha).

This term I'll be going back to my first PE school Woolooware High (which I also loved working at) in the Shire to do casual teaching while I finish off the remainder of this degree.

I completed my PE2 last term of 2022, and it was a really good experience, great supervisor and staff culture. Off the back of that i was able to land a full time job at another school teaching History. It's busy!

My methods are Chinese and History, I've enjoyed meeting other masters students throughout the course.

I think this course will highlight issues within workplaces that occur not just in teaching, and will highlight strategies and professional practice to utilise to make the transition into a different work-setting somewhat smoother.

I've worked with very similar student populations at the tertiary level in the United States for the last sixteen years, but there's still a lot to learn. Hi all!

I’m completing the masters of teaching (primary) and though I’m yet to work casually at schools, I have got experience delivering STEAM workshops to primary school students through running my own small business. It has been very demanding to juggle work, study and raising my daughters, but this has also been extremely rewarding!

I will be doing my PE2 in the second trimester, so I hope to take on what I learn during this course to help me in my professional practice.

Hello everyone! I am currently finishing my Master of Teaching (Secondary) in Visual Arts and English. I have been placed at Rosebank College in Fivedock for my final placement for Visual Arts which is beginning in Feb. I'm planning on continuing to study a Master of Special and Inclusive Education as I wish to eventually teach students with disabilities either at a school for specific purposes or in a support unit.
