I would like to remind families that if they are choosing to take a holiday during term time that they ensure that they notify school that they are absent with the genuine reason for absence. It is important that we know this for safeguarding matters.

We have enjoyed a calm and positive first week back and it has been lovely to see the children settling so quickly into their new classes, routines and learning.

It has also been especially lovely to welcome some of our gorgeous new Reception starters this week. They have already begun settling beautifully into school life, and it has been a real pleasure to see them exploring their new environment, getting to know their teachers and beginning to make new friends. We can’t wait to welcome the rest of our new Reception children and their families next week and have everyone together as part of our school community.

Today, we have also enjoyed our Values Day, which has been a fantastic way to begin the new school year. It was wonderful to see our children learning more about our school values and thinking about what they mean to us as a school community. A particular highlight was seeing so many of our families joining us and getting involved in the activities. Thank you for your support and for helping to make the day so special.

A huge thank you must also go to Mrs Balmer for all of the time, thought and effort she put into organising such a lovely and meaningful day for our school community.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We are looking forward to a happy, successful and exciting year together.
