Dear editor, recently me and my boyfriend tre have been getting into a lot of small altercations about ANYTHING I do. I went out with my friends yesterday evening which he was aware of and when I got home he automatically began questioning me and telling me I'm not ‘allowed’ to go out at night anymore. Everyday it seems to get worse and the arguments escalate to physical abuse. He has hit me in the face on several occasions but afterwards he always explains that he loves me so much and doesn't ‘want’ to hurt me so i always accept his apologies. He doesn't get along with my family so I haven't seen them in the past few months since we've been together. When I go to work he constantly calls me to “check in” I find it unnecessary but I always go along with it. I feel as if I am being treated like a hostage in my own relationship I would love any advice you can give.
