Mia and her friends want to play outside. Mia and her friends will need to dress warm to do so.  

This activity I chose teaches the children that we need to dress warm in the winter and teaches the different types of outdoor clothing. 

Today we are going to learn how to put on our outdoor gear. First, we put on our ski pants, then boots, then move onto our hat, mitts and scarf, lastly, we put on our jackets.  

This has all 5 domains.

Physical- putting on the gear.

Language- we’re saying what goes on next.

Emotional-some children get upset when they can’t get the stuff on.

Cognitive- thinking what goes on next.

Social- doing it together as a group.

Extension- put our stuff on backwards, or start with jacket, hat, mitts, boots then try put on ski pants.

This gives the children the language domain. Language is very important in a daycare facility.

Flash cards help children with language by improving vocabulary, encouraging word recognition and strengthening memory through visual and interactive learning.

It teaches them language learning by understanding the noises the animals make. They are also learning to improve their words.

An extension activity that we can do is get the puppets out and showing which animal can prey on the other, same with predator, we can show which animal is the predator from the other.

I would gather up the preschoolers and let them know its circle time once everyone is sitting. I would explain to them what activity we will be doing today. The activity today is learning about arctic animals . Show the the preschool students the flash cards of the arctic animals. Talk to the preschoolers about the Sounds that the animals make. I will say the word in Inuinnaqtun annd English. Ask them questions about what the arctic animals eat and where they live.

Have the kids sit or tell them its circle time and demonstrate what you are doing with your hands/fingers sing the song slowly just so the kids can understand what is going on that way they’ll catch on. Sing this song during activities or during meal time just so the kids can get familiar with it and know the words

In this activity we will learn about different sounds of animals and vehicles. We will listen to different sounds, make actions if they move. So the baby can learn the noise and the action, they can learn to remember.

I can grab different stuffed animals or cars and trucks. Ask the babies to imitate the sounds or the movement of the object.
