In the video earth and clay are investigated, highlighting the natural connections to particular places. It highlights the unique features of soil and clay from many locations, highlighting the close connection that these materials have to their original locations. Given that the unique characteristics of clay and soil reflect the local environment, geography, and cultural history, this portrayal calls into question the identity and value of a location. The video invites people to reflect on how physical features of clay and soil add to a place's overall sense of identity and heritage. https://youtu.be/EbGqvjbD3vQ

Week 3 Lights and shadow (session 7)

What does it mean to 'listen with light'?

Observing everything carefully and noticing details and change in what is around us.

How does light give us opportunity to think with shadow?

Shadows help us see shapes better by highlighting areas where light is blocked. It push us to look at what is hidden or less clear.

What do shadow/transparency teach us about light?

Transparency shows how light can pass through objects, while shadows demonstrate how light can be blocked. They both help in improving our awareness of how light functions.

How might we 'think with light'?

By seeing things clearly and generating new ideas, light helps us understand and solve difficulties.

Where does light come from? What makes light?

Sources of light include lights and the sun. Lamps use electricity to produce light; the sun produces light through nuclear reactions.

How does light offer us a different way of 'seeing' or a different perspective?

We can see details, colours, and designs because of light. It affects how we see things by directing to specific places and creating different feelings.

How does light call us to attention?

Our eyes are drawn to the bright light and we look at it. Our attention is also drawn to changes in light, such as a flash or the turning on of a light.

What can we see with light?

We can see everything around us, including colours, patterns, and motions, because of light.

How might we generate questions with light?

We can learn more about the causes and mechanisms of various events by observing how light behaves, such as bending through water or creating shadows.

How is light different from our other inquiries?

Light is a real thing and an indicator for understanding since it is something we can see and measure.

What is light capable of? Incapable of?

Things can be shown, exposed, and brightened by light. It need a source in order to function and cannot pass through transparent items without modifying.

How does light respond to other materials in its environment?

Different materials allow light to be consumed, bent, reflected, transferred, and passed through.

I noticed a reflection of a tree and its leaves on the wall inside my house, and it sparked my curiosity. Wondering how I could play with this natural light, I went over to the reflection and moved my hand like a bird in fling. To my delight, the reflection transformed into the beautiful image of a bird soaring.
