         <description><![CDATA[<p>We think kingfisher should win the award for corporate social responsibility because...</p><p>They have a positive impact on suppliers and their local communities </p><p>They comply with health and safety policies throughout the world and are continuously improving to establish best practice </p><p>They are constantly driving forwards to improve their impact on the environment and have made a large contribution to the forest 500 project.</p><p>The CSR report is honest  useful and ethical.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Positive- reforestation - part of the forest 500 - big charity focused on promoting reforestation and giving scores to those involved. </p><p>Generally kingfisher have done well with scoring and have achieved 5/5 for reporting and transparency. Leads users to trusting the company if they are transparent. </p><p>- aim to be 100% timber sustainable by 2020</p><p>- launched forest projects - e.g. In Spain starting local forest projects including employees - emphasise employee involvement with corporate responsibility, beginning to incorporate into company culture .</p><p>Energy - green house gases - reduced overall by 5% </p><p>- new stores built to Eco design principles  which are energy efficient - going forward this is looking really positive </p><p>- producing energy saving products which could save customers £450 million per year. Corporate report is useful to customers. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Suppliers - Positive impact on suppliers and their local community??</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><b><u>Suppliers</u></b>&nbsp;</p><p>- Monthly board reports to monitor the progress of largest operating companies of achieving their sustainability targets.</p><p>-  Own Code of Conduct - for factory working conditions in which they audit for over 500 suppliers/factories to insure this conduct is being followed and therefore checked.</p><p>- Supports Suppliers - As suppliers are all over the world, many of them can not manage the impact of global issues that may arise through natural disasters. Kingfisher help their suppliers with relationship management and ongoing supplier vulnerability assessments to aid with disaster recovery programmes. </p><p>- Provide suppliers with certainty through providing large scale orders allowing suppliers to operate their businesses more efficiently. Both parties can take advantage of any benefits which may arise, including cost savings.</p><p><b><u>Local Community</u></b> </p><p>- Invest in projects to help people acquire practical home improvement skills and improve the lives of people in the local communities near to the stores and the supply chain.</p><p>- They provide DIY classes for children in Poland and help in the UK in regards to the Scouts providing them with DIY badges.</p><p>- They provide 530 community projects in total over the world.</p>]]></description>
