This act produced taxes on all printed materials such as newspapers,wills and cards. They needed to all be stamped to show they have been payed for.
Why did the British pass it?
The British passed this act because they needed to pay off their debt for their war with France.
How did the colonists react?
The colonists reacted by protesting because of Pat rick Henry who convinced the Virginia House of Burgesses had to pass the resolution.
