The use of the Force Bill effectively ended South Carolina's talks about nullification of federal tariffs. This was a great use of federal power to keep the nation in check. </div>]]></description>

The acceptance of Missouri with the Tallmadge Amendment was rejected by Southeners because with this amendment slavery could end.<br>2. The Tariff of 1828 raised the duties on imports by 35-45% to protect northern manufactures and western famers. This raised the prices by 40%.<br>3. The Force Bill granted federal authority to send military actions to states who refused to comply with rules set by government such as in the case of South Carolina talks about nullifying the tariffs.</div>]]></description>
