         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week, we had the privilege to hear our guest speaker, Tania Cassidy, an Associate Professor in the area of Sport Pedagogy, particularly sports coaching. Tania highlighted the importance of acting professionally as a coach which would assist us in motivating and encouraging our mentee further. <br>One of the key element discussed by Tania was to establish 3/4 "core values" to always refer back to. In order to be professionally competent it requires more than cognitive and functional competence. <br>One important quote which Tania discussed was: <strong><em>"There are no mistakes; there's only learning. And that's why we coach." </em></strong></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Cork Penny Dinners is one of Cork's <a href="http://corkpennydinners.ie/untitled-2/untitled-copy-2">oldest caring charitable organisations</a>.<br>Cork Penny Dinners provide a hot nourishing meal of soup, main course, dessert and tea/coffee daily.  In addition  sandwiches, biscuits, fruit and juice are also available to take away as an evening meal.<br>We had the privilege as part of the Made2Move program to visit Penny Dinners along with our mentees. <br>We met the incredible people who set up this charity and those who run it on a day-to-day basis. We observed the chefs making the various dinners and desserts and learned different techniques to use in the kitchen. <br>In addition, we learned of the incredible work that Penny Dinners is doing such as providing an apartment for those experiencing the difficult hardships associated with homelessness and to help get them "back on their feet."    <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week we had the privilege of meeting Niamh O'Brien who spoke to us about the importance of mental health in today's society and the importance of it for students especially. <br><br>Niamh O'Brien is an existing PhD candidate in University College Cork. Niamh teaches on the B.Ed Sports Studies and Physical Education Programme, in the School of Education, at University College Cork (UCC). Niamh's main teaching responsibilities include teaching subjects in Health, Health Promotion, Health over the Life-Course, Sports Medicine, Disability and Physical Education Pedagogy, and Skills Acquisition. <br><br>We practiced different, effective mindfulness exercises to practice and teach our mentees if they begin to feel overwhelmed.   </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One of the main objectives of the Made2Move Club was to increase our mentee's daily step total and aim for a total of <mark>10,000 steps a day.</mark> </div><div>To record the steps, our Mentee download an app called <mark>"Accupedo" </mark>which records the steps taken, calories burned and distance traveled etc..  <br>Eimear's step increased throughout the duration of the programme. I took into consideration that Eimear's steps cannot be tracked during gym sessions and classes and also at the weekend when she works as a waitress as she cannot use her phone in work.   </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week Eimear and I continued on focusing on Eimear's Physical Activity plan by attending Zumba and "Legs, Bums and Tums" together in order to promote Eimear's confidence and fear of attending the gym alone. Eimear has admitted previously to suffering with her body image and confidence but acknowledges that she is making progress in seeing the change she wants to make.<br>Furthermore, Eimear confesses to her change in attitude towards physical activity has positively changed.   </div>]]></description>
