Group 2: James, Bruce, Volker
In Roman Empire, the main way of advertising is using trademark. For example, the milk factory would use goat as a mark to let others know.
Ancient Romans used to carve, paint or scratch into the walls inscriptions or signs to communicate in a formal or, most of all, informal way with the other citizens. Some of them were advertisements for games or for political campaigns; others were promotions of products on sale where it was explained their quality, variety and price. There were fines for those who painted or placed the signs in not allowed spaces.

Group 4: Xiao Xin, Shi Yuan, Yu Cheng

With technology comes different forms of media, we are allowed to advertise through new formats such as ad space on blogs and websites, digital billboard and cinema advertisement. Besides, the modern era allows us to create, adjust and amend graphics through the use of software. Modern advertising forms prefer to use video or celebrity endorsements. For example, in 1984 Pepsi-Cola hired Michael Jackson to endorse. Pepsi sold more than Coca-Cola in that era.
