As US and China are the two largest economy in the world, news outlet from various countries have reported, and gave their opinions and stance about the trade war issue. For example, from our findings, besides The New York Times (US) coverage, we can see that the Arab News have also published its coverage on the issue, written by its in-house journalists. 

Most of the news coverage depict a negative tone to the issue. Most of them have highlighted how Trump’s decision in starting this trade war with China can affect the other countries’ economy, and how this decision is irrational, selfish. Only articles which has used the US government as its news source are positive, as it represents the reasons behind Trump’s decision to increase the tariff. 

The news articles have utilized its journalists’ opinions and opinions/announcements from government officials as the news sources.

It all started at 4 April 2018 when Philippines Government’s spokesman, Harry Roque announces that Boracay Island will be closed at 26 April 2018 for 6 months.
