A lot of the problems they faced were usually enforced by white people. African-Americans faced; discrimination, segregation, bad working conditions, and hate groups. The KKK was created because there was nobody to stop them. They would do horrible crimes to African-Americans such as lynching and more. There was a white and black side to almost everything in the south. These problems created The Great Migration. African-Americans moved to the north for better working conditions; such as more pay. They also migrated to the north so that they would be treated as equally as everyone else. The Great Migration was one of the loudest civil rights movements in history.

This was most common in the south and west. Some people broke the law and created underground saloons and nightclubs called speakeasies.  The people who bought this liquor were called bootleggers. They would hide the alcohol they bought in their boots. Prohibition created organized crime which were businesses or a gang for instance named Al capone. He killed his competition just so he could control the alcohol network. Prohibition later on was no longer in effect.

It changed the way people got places and was just for efficient to use. Route 66 was was of the new inventions which were paved roads. Route 66 took you from Chicago to California. The automobile  created and expanded some businesses such as the gas station which was one of the most important. Along with repair shops and shopping centers. However the railroad industry was greatly affected. the automobile was easier and more efficient causing transportation to lose business.

The airplane industry was invented causing there to be faster mail. Mail was able to be delivered by plane making it way faster. The plane industry also saw a lot of travelers at this time. This was a way to get somewhere faster than car and train. This affected the railroad industry the same way because you didn't have to travel by train or send mail by train either. It was faster by plane.

Electricity was able to reach longer distances cause more advances in technology. More homes contained more electric technology like irons. Advertising helped businesses do better. It got their message out of what they have to offer for the people.

They circled money around because Britain and France then had to pay American back.
