         <description><![CDATA[<div>Folk music was really the protest music of the 1960s.  It featured simple chords, simple melodies, and messages of peace and harmony.  The later it got in the 1960s, the darker it got, due to the escalation of the Vietnam Conflict. Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and Pete Seeger were famous for this style.</div>]]></description>
