William Golding sees that humans are violent and dangerous things. The boys are hunting and they start to chant " Kill the pig! Cut his throat! Kill the pig! Bash him in!" (Golding 114) Just as shown here you can tell that he sees that humans are terrible things. They are cruel and selfish. Just like how he showed that the boys are brutally killing the pig.

William Golding expresses in the novel that human nature is more chaotic than orderly. He writes in in the book that the children on the island are savages, which is a sign that they are out of control and acting like animals now.

They are attacking each other for no reason, just for the thrill of it. Toward the end of chapter, Jack and his tribe start getting violent. " Viciously, with full intention, he hurled his spear at Ralph"(Golding 181). Ralph has doing no

harm to Jack and for some reason Jack felt like he needed to prove himself and make a statement because he thinks he is the new chief. Golding is using visual context to explain that humans are naturally chaotic and evil, not good.

William Golding has a really opinionated view of human nature. within the book, order was followed it chaos. That being said it shows that with good comes evil and really humans are not one or the other but actually both, some more evil then good. There's a beast inside us and our actions reflect who we really are, our intentions are selfish and selfishness brings out tje beast. “Maybe there is a beast… maybe it's only us.”
― William Golding, Lord of the Flies

William Golding, views human nature as being a chaotic wreck compared to an ordered society. He only sees the violent parts and evil things humans do, he never can see any good. He shows this in his novel, by demonstrating it through Simon. When Simon went to talk to the Lord, a lot of evil in human nature is shown, "...swung at Ralph with his spear" (Golding, 177). This is how William described all of the evil human nature has.

When they first arrived at the island, they were extremely orderly telling other boys what was right and wrong. In the beginning of the book, Jack was frightened and didn't kill the pig he saw. "'Why didn't you?'...They knew very well why he hadn't: because of the enormity of the knife descending and cutting into living flesh; because of the unbearable blood" (Golding)Now all Jack can think about is to hunt and have meat.

Ralph, Piggie and Samneric show the good side while Jack and "his boys" show signs of evil. "Supposing we go, looking like we used to, washed and hair brushed---after all we aren't savages really and being rescued isn't a game---" It's important that Golding mentions that Ralph and the boys don't believe that they are playing a game for fun. Jack and the boys don't realize how serious there situation is and want to have fun. Jack and them act like everything will be okay and they will be rescued when they want.

William Golding has a cynical outlook on human nature. He clearly believes that when humans are allowed to live on their own, outside the confines of societal expectation, they act as savage beasts. Although Golding creates some characters in his novel that prove to be positive representations of human nature, the majority of his writing depicts the stranded boys as cruel and disorderly. This is demonstrated by Simon's conversation with the "beast" or the dead pig's head. The "beast" taunts Simon, "'You knew, didn't you? I'm part of you?'" (Golding 130). With this conversation, Golding is trying to show that the "beast" is inside of Simon, it is the evilness of human nature that he is fighting against.

William Golding views human nature to be evil and chaotic rather then good. On the island, after killing one pig the boys in Jack's group turned into blood crazy savages. "You knew, didn't you? I'm a part of you" (Golding 143). In this example, the pig head is speaking to simon, but it is really simon talking to himself. Golding is explaining that humans are naturally evil. Once the boys of Jack's group experienced the evilness of killing, the evil inside them overshadowed the good inside them.

Based off of how this novel unfolds Golding thinks that humans are more chaotic then orderly. '"Let's have a vote." "Yes!" "Vote for chief!"' (Golding 22)

The book starts off orderly but as time passes and the kids get more and more scared of what's on the island and of whether or not they will ever get rescued

everything gets more chaotic. '"Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!" Now out of the terror rose another desire, thick, urgent, blind" (Golding 152). The boys

transform into savages as their fear takes over. In this book Golding shows how as soon as these young boys were free from societal rules and expectations and they

weren't faced with any consequences they became completely chaotic. This shows that human nature is chaotic but because of society human nature is suppressed.

Rules, consequences, and expectations force humans to behave in an orderly fashion and because we have had societies for so long many believe that we are inherently orderly.

However, as soon as we are free from society and can do "whatever we want" we become chaotic once again, because that is our nature.

William Golding has a view of human nature is that humans are much more chaotic then they are orderly. " The chief smoke to him angrily" (Golding. 182). As shown in this example it is very easy for humans to get angry and this would show how anger makes the situation more chaotic.

He presents his opinion in the novel Lord of the Flies,

showing that humans are born violent, greedy, and savage like. Humans usually care more about themselves

than they do about others and show acts of selfishness throughout everything that they do. He also expresses

that humans do not care how others might feels or about helping those that need help.
