1.The type of oppression that shows up in my book is exploitation , because of how she is led on to believe she is going to work as a maid then when her boss finally says it's time to work and taken to this room with a man in it she relives that she was sold to a hore house and then she has to then pay a unfair debt of 20,000 rubes. '' you belong to me and as i remember i paid a pretty sum for you''.
2.In my novel opperssion looks like beging forced or at frist tricked into goging there because she thaught that she was goging there to work as a maid but then tryies to leave once she the truth and then druged and forced to have sex, the opperser is mumtaz and the opresed is the 13 year old girl lakshmi .
3.The oppression in my novel relates to the oppression in the world is how pimps do the exact same thing to there girls that

1) The type of oppression that shows up in my book is Violence Lakshmi is sold to sex trade house call the happiness house in the city area of India. And this is violence because in the house the men that comes in and rapes her, and Mumtaz the woman that owns her abuses her. A quote that represents that is...

"Uncle husband isn't young and handsome like Krishna, and I can never tell when he might grow angry and slap me." page 83

2) In my novel oppression looks like when Mumtaz uses a chilly sticks and forces it into the girl's vagina as a form of punishment.
3) The oppression in my novel relates to the oppressions in the real world because their are girls and women in third world countries being sold into the sex slave trade without their consent.

1)The type of oppression that shows up in my book is Exploitation. Laksmi is working in a brothel for a lady named mumtaz who is not paying her for the task she is doing meaning that she is not paying her fairly enough. A quote from the book that supports my evidence

"as soon as you work the 20,000 rupees I paid for you" pg.132.

This backs up my evidence because mumtaz only paid 10,000 rupees for the girl.

2) In my novel oppression looks like when mumtaz forces a cup of drugged lassi between Lakshmi clinching jaws. Mumtaz,is the oppressor and Lakshmi is the oppressed.
3)This relates to the real world because people get bought out everyday. People also get used for things that are only beneficial to others but not themselves.

1) The oppression of the book is Lakshmi is abolished into a sexual slavery in Nepal. Mumtaz did something busy with Lakshmi while staying in their village. It looks like the suspense and mysterious climax from Lakshmi. After Mumtaz worked with Lakshmi, he paid her 100 rupees for the busy jobs they both have done. Mumtaz was the oppressor in the book, and Lakshmi was oppressed. It relates to the oppression in the world around me because I understood about learning people from the past (World History or Social Studies).

1. The type of oppression that shows up in my book is Exploitation, because at first she was sedated for her refusal and then abused by any man that wanted her. In the book Lakshmi overhears a couple of men that stated that they only paid 30 rupees to be with her.
2. In my novel oppression looks like abusing and tricking Lakshmi to come to the city and eventually cross the border into a foreign country and then forcing her to be with men. Mumtaz is the oppressor and Lakshmi is the oppressed.
3. The oppression in my novel relates to the oppression in the real world in these ways that every year nearly 12,000 Nepali girls are sold by their families both unwittingly and intentionally. That is only part of a greater number, the United States predicts that nearly half a million are sold worldwide annually.
