The BYOD system is an excellent system provided that all students have access to devices to bring in. But what happens when not all students have access to these devices? Does the system fail? Let's consider a computer science classroom:

Imagine, all but one student are able to bring in a laptop to do their personal coding on. This one student now would either have to share another student's computer (not giving either of them the full coding experience), or have access to a school device.

In essence, despite the socioeconomic status of children in any school, the teacher must be aware of equity issues when implementing BYOD. As such, BYOD should only be implemented if there are devices at the school that children who do not have their own devices can use.
