-        Ensure the correct people are present for patients arrival

o   Ensure there are enough people to perform a log roll and have a board ready. 

o   Ensure the medical team are in place in resus

o   Ensure each member of the team knows their role before the patient arrives to make the care efficient

o   Ring to xray/mri and inform them they may need urgent scans

o   Ring theatre and inform them they may need urgent surgery

o   Inform anaesthesiologists that they may be required?

-        Ensure all equipment that is needed is ready before the patient arrives

o   Ecg machine

o   Portable xrays?

o   Bloods and cannula equipment set up and ready for use

o   Portable ultrasound?

-        Where possible book scans in advance of the patient arriving to avoid delay in care. Could these be portable in terms of xrays? 

-        Does he need an interpreter?

-        Have medical notes and stickers ready – does he have a DNAR?

-        Check the crash trolly is ready to be used if necessary
