"Spoken pressure, which is when someone pressures you with words, can be difficult to resist" (Communication & Coping Skills 6). It is normal in most people to try to make sure you do not hurt others feelings but we need to know when we need to stand up for ourselves. "Unspoken pressure is especially hard to resist, because instead of standing up to a friend, you're standing up to how you feel inside" (Communication & Coping Skills 7). Unspoken pressure can come from anybody in your life, including your parents and coaches.
