How do Solid-State drives work??

Solid state drives are the new hard drives, but better. They are faster and are harder to break. They are a little more complicated and expensive than regular hard drives, but they are worth it. If you don't want your data to be lost, then these drives are for you! How do they work you may be wondering? Well, these drives are more complicated than regular hard drive. Solid state drives are a rectangular shape and are usually 3.5 inches long. Instead of having a CD on the top, spinning like a regular hard drive. A solid state instead has tons and tons of chips in it. It also stores data differently than a regular hard drive. A solid state drive has rows and rows of transistors to store its data. This is more faster and neater than having sectors store your data like a regular hard drive would. Since the solid state drive has transistors instead of a disk spinning. It is more quiet than your regular hard drive. Overall, a solid state drive is faster, quieter and holds more data than a regular hard drive. A solid state drive contains tons of chips in it, instead of a disk, like a regular hard drive has. This is what makes Solid State drives faster and quieter than a regular Hard drive.

[This is a regular hard dive] [This is a solid state drive

Greetings aliens, we are looking at "Human technology" and how they work. We have discovered this new artifact that we have no clue how it works. Apparently, the humans, call them "towers" and they are used to do all sorts of stuff like, go on the "internet" or communicate with each-others. Me and my parter, Devin, are going to look what is inside this ancient artifact and how the humans did it. Stay in tune as we take this contraption apart.

We have found out that the ancient artifact that we found is called a "Hp pavilion an819n." We have no clue what that means but we assume that it belongs to a big company called HP that produces "tech" items. Looking a little deeper, we found out that this tower cost around ---- which is a acceptable price back then. We also found out that the tower was made in 2004 after looking at the manual that we have found. This HP tower also supports a thing called "Windows XP" and "Intel Inside." We believe that these two things are what helps the Tower run and help them search the web. The hp pavilion a819n also contains a Intel Pentium 4 520 / 2.8 GHzs which is a very powerful CPU at it's time. We also read that this tower contains a 512 mb memory which once again, was one of the best in its time. This computer was the fastest one you could get back then but now, it is very slowly looking at the newer towers. Looking at the front of the computer, we can read that it contains a 200 GB hard drive! This was the average room for 2004 computers but, you can always add more to the computer, this was just the starting kit. Overall, this computer was one of the best at its time. It was fast and powerful, but now it is one of the slowest compared to the "new generation towers."

We have decided to open up the tower and see what mysteries lies inside. It took some effort and some unscrewing but we finally got the side to open up. What we found inside was worth all of the trouble of unscrewing everything. What we found inside were some wires and about two fans. We also see a lot of chips and we believe that we have found a graphic card on the bottom right and a memory card on the bottom left. This is all we know right now but we will start to dig in further and find out what these pieces do and how they work. Stay tune as we take this "tower" apart.

We have found a weird device called the "Cpu." This tiny piece of technology is like the brain of the computer. It thinks for the computer and tells it what to do. The better the Cpu you have the more faster things will act in the computer. For example, if you have a slow Cpu, things will take a little longer to load up on your computer. While, a fast Cpu will think faster, thus having things ready faster. :)

It's like a heart, it pumps out power to all the important parts in the computer. Without the power-supply, the computer won't be able to turn on.
