All quadratic equations can be solved for their roots. Their roots are where the quadratic line crosses over the x axis. And for quadratic lines, there are two roots.

We have already looked at solving these types of equations by factorising, which we did as one of our first subjects. Now we are looking at solving quadratics that don't have whole numbers for their roots. This can easily be done by using the quadratic formula.
