Education as an institution is not meeting the needs of children and adolescents.

Why:

Education isn't accessible to everyone and everywhere. Still many states struggle with providing their students with proper accessibility.
Students, especially children still struggle to see themselves reflected in the books they read or content they learn.
Adolescents aren't being challenged enough anymore. Due to overuse or taken advantage of mental health, teachers have been forced as an institution to be soft with the students of today. Students of this generation need to be challenged.

Teachers Being Underpaid

Because people forget the many roles teachers have to play. We wear many hats as teachers. We need to be:

Teachers
Mentors
Motivators
Role Models
Care Givers
Counselors
Supporters
Therapists
Collaborators
"Parent Figures"
Advocates
& many More...

People forget that sometimes we're the only person in our student's lives that can provide support, love, care, or responsibility. Sometimes we have to carry the baggage of our students to help them carry on with their lives. We don't get paid enough for the huge roles we play in the lives of our students and even in the lives of the world to be honest.

If I were the near the end of my life, what would I hope to have accomplished?

I hope to have made lasting positive impacts in my profession. I want to have been able to leave my students with something positive when they leave my classrooms, whether that is intellectually or as individuals.
I hope to have made my parents proud. They are my biggest supporters and they the whole reason why I push through even on my toughest days.
I hope to be baptized in my faith. I hope to when I reach the end, when people see me, they can feel the light of my faith in my heart and soul. That is the biggest accomplishment I want to reach.
