In this scene the Blue Man is trying to teach Eddie that everything happens for a reason. This quote stood out to me and I like this quote. I Like this quote because it explains why you should always treat people with respect and be nice to people even if they are just strangers.

On page 50 Eddie is in the Blue Man's heaven and the blue man is teaching him his first lesson, which is everything happens for a reason. Eddie is curious as to if he was able to save the little girl and by the Blue Man's reaction we can infer that he did not. He get's upset about it and Eddie believes his life is a waste if he didn't save her. Then the Blue Man tells him that no life is a waste.

On page 9 we learn about Eddies one true love. This is a wholesome part of the book. We see Eddie's soft side here and we can get inside his shoes and further develop Eddie's character. Although we don't learn too much about her i'm sure she will come back into the story at some point.

On page 18 we see a new side to Eddie. He risked his life to save a little girl. That is an extremely brave action and we can see that he is selfless. Most people would not give their life to save someone else's.

In this part of the book, we find out that captain is the one who shot Eddie. We find out that the captain had to make a big sacrifice to keep his promise to never leave anyone behind. Eddie was about to run into a burning building and most likely would've died so captain shot his leg to save him from dying.

They were able to escape from capture by using a distraction. They beat up all the guards and killed them all. This was a really cool scene in the book that I enjoyed reading. They also got revenge for them killing Rabozzo.

They killed Rabozzo. They shot him right in front of everyone because he was sick and couldn't do his job. They killed him to set an example saying that if you don't work you die. The captain vouched that he would never leave anyone behind but he unfortunately had to leave Robozzo behind.

in this scene Mickey Shea is giving his advice to Eddie and telling him how to stay alive during war. He seems like an experienced old man who has been through a lot. He seems like he has some PTSD.

I like this quote because I do believe this to be true. All parents damage their children in some way and it cannot be helped. It is a sad thing to think about but it is very true.

Mickey Shea, a longtime family friend and coworker of Eddie’s father, tries to assault Eddie’s mother while drunk. Eddie’s father catches Mickey in the act. While he is enraged, he grabs a hammer and is ready to beat Mickey severely. But he was able to contain himself and be the bigger person.

This incident takes place during Eddie’s teenage years, when tensions between him and his father are at their peak. Eddie's father is a harsh, emotionally distant, and often physically abusive man, who believes in discipline. In this moment, Eddie has finally reached a point where he stands up for himself. After years of mistreatment and neglect, he is no longer willing to accept his father’s abuse.

Eddie always believed that his father died of pneumonia after shouting at someone in the cold. To Eddie, it was a pointless and pathetic death and it fed his lifelong resentment. He thought his father got what he deserved after being cold and abusive his whole life.

In this part of the story, Tala is telling Eddie his purpose in life. Eddie died doing what he was destined to do. Eddie always had a thing for kids. They loved him and would always approach him when he worked at Ruby Pier. I chose this books snap because it highlights Eddie’s personality and explains Eddie on a deeper level.

At this point in the book Eddie finds out that he actually saved the little girl. This is a crucial part of the book because as we read the whole time we weren't sure if he saved her or if she died and now we finally find out that he saved her. I chose this book snap because it is an important piece of the book. We find out that he saved her and that the hands that he felt were Tala's hands not the little girl.

At this point in the story, we are learning a little bit about Nicky, the boy who drop his key. We find out that when Eddie died it was in the paper for a little but things returned to normal shortly after. We find out that Nicky had just gotten a new key the same day he lost it. We also find out that Nicky’s great grandmother is Ruby. I chose this book snap because it connects to the blue man’s lesson that everything is connected.

At this part of the book, Eddie is speaking with Marguerite.

She explains this concept of lost love and how lost love is still love. I chose this book snap because I like this quote. Eddie is learning that their love for each other is still there through memories.
