First, I share with Tapat the principles and advocacies that I try to incorporate in my life. Having the same people around kept me fighting for the rights of students and people outside our University. In these two years, I was fortunate enough to be trusted by two USG presidents as I became part of the Office of the President. There, I had the chance to help in different policies, but what I consider the most important was the Tuition Fee Increase deliberations. Using my background in economics, I helped the USG argue for a 0% TFI. I consider this stage as the third stage, "Taya-Kilos." During the activities, I was able to share our project to different students from different countries, and I was also able to learn from their projects. However, beyond the projects, we were able to discuss the problems of our own countries. We realized that while we were different in terms of culture, certain patterns present themselves in terms of the problem we face as a society (e.g. corruption). With the liberalization of trade since the late 20th century, economists have been concerned with the impact of trade on labor market outcomes. The Philippines, having had persistent inequality problems, made us look into this problem again.
