         <description><![CDATA[<div>The cause of scleroderma is unknown. However, several factors can increase your risk of getting the disease. These include: exposure to certain toxins, such as  organic solvents, vinyl chloride, or silica dust. Family history of scleroderma, quartz mining, and use of rapeseed oil may also increase your risk.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As a disease the effects the connective tissues in the body, there are two types of scleroderma; localized and systemic. If it is only mild, you will likely only find the symptoms in the fingers, hands, toes and face. Severe scleroderma may spread to the midsection, affecting your organs, blood vessels, joints and muscles. The following are symptoms: cold or blue fingers and toes, or skin color changes. </div><div> Swelling or thickening of your skin. </div><div> Visible blood vessels or spider veins in your skin. </div><div> Dry mouth or trouble swallowing. </div><div> Weight loss, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. </div><div> Acid reflux or stomach pain. </div><div> Muscle weakness or loss of movement. </div><div> Joint pain or stiffness. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As it is mostly an affect of the blood, several different blood tests can be used to diagnose the disease. If you are found to have a high level of antibodies in your blood, mixed with the symptoms it can be used to diagnose scleroderma. </div>]]></description>
