My name is Regina Jackson and I am an Early Childhood Education Associate Professor at Rasmussen College as well as the CDA Liaison for the School of Education. I work with students to help them reach their goals of obtaining a college degree/certificate.  I am committed to working with students to help them succeed. 

I have three wonderful daughters Renae (23), Jasmine (21) and Julia (12). And a supportive husband James of twenty plus years. 

I completed my Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Concordia in St. Paul, with a major in Elementary Education and minor in Early Childhood Education.  I completed my Master’s of Arts degree in Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from Concordia University in St. Paul in 2006.  I did my thesis/capstone on the education “achievement gap”. I have often, wondered what role “culture” plays in the persisting of the “achievement gap” and what part early childhood education can play in reducing it. I along with you get to discuss the importance of child development. 

I have worked with children and families through various positions, including teaching kindergarten and first grade and a Child Development Specialist at an early childhood education center. My true passion is working with students and helping them become advocates for young children and their families and helping society value the early years of a child’s life and the field of early childhood education as a profession.
