         <description><![CDATA[<p>The table compares the annual compensation of secondary school teachers in five countries in 2009, along with information about how many years it took for them to secure the highest rates.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Overall</strong>, teachers in all countries shown received higher salaries after 15 years, and those in Luxembourg consistently earned the most by far. <strong>In addition</strong>, Danish teachers reached the top salary the quickest, while their Korean counterparts took the longest to do so.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Regarding</strong> Denmark and Australia, teachers were paid a total of $47,000 in their first year in Denmark, moderately higher than their Australian counterparts' $34,000. <strong>Notably</strong>, it took less than a decade for teachers to receive the maximum levels of $54,000 in the former country and $48,000 in the latter one.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>As for the remaining countries</strong>, Luxembourg offered the highest initial salary for teachers, at $80,000, while their Korean and Japanese counterparts were paid the least, earning approximately $30,000. After 15 years of teaching, the salary of teachers in Luxembourg rose to $112,000, requiring an additional 15 years to reach the peak earnings of $139,000. Meanwhile, with 15 years of experience, Korean and Japanese teachers' pay nearly doubled, reaching the level of about $50,000, and they needed around 35 years in total to receive peak salaries of $84,500 and $62,400, respectively.</p>]]></description>
