Some times if a child was born with a disability, he Spartan parents would leave it out in the wild to die. In education they were not taught the stuff that we learn today, instead were taught to fight and prepare for the military. That´s because the Spartan government wanted Spartans to be tough and strong, they were not given enough food or clothing. so they were encouraged to steal,but if they were caught they were beaten. That was the Spartan way: Lie, Cheat, Steal, and get away with it, or else. When these children became teenagers, those who showed the most leadership and military experience among their peers, became part of the Spartan Secret Police. Although their job was to protect the city-state, these teens were encouraged to terrorize and bully the slaves, and even sometimes murder them if they broke the law. Spartans believed that healthy women would produce healthy babies, so even girls learned how to fight. Even though Spartan women never had to join the army or navy, they grew up to be very strong and very good with fighting skills. The military was known for creating and using the Phalanx formation, a strategy in which the soldiers worked in a close unit so that there was little to no space between the shields. When the Spartans had to go to war they would not go loud and dumb because they would have a lesser chance on overcoming the war so they went in quiet and smart so they get there enemy´s from the back.
