This is a great way to monitor, and in turn, manage blood pressure.

This invention could also help in reducing polypharmacy by ensuring that prescribed medications are effective. Also would allow for a clear picture of "new med orders" being adding have an impact on BP. Such as pain medication. We would be able to determine if a pain medication was the reason for a drop in BP.

For me personally, my BP runs on the low side. This can be a reason to "withhold" pain medication. However, with the type of BP monitoring in the inpatient setting, we could actively see if the pain medication has an adverse effect on the BP justifying the withholding of the med or justifying the safety of its use for the specific patient.

I can also see this being of great benefit to have in the inpatient setting. Specific to the Inpatient Rehab world we frequently have a need to see how activity effects BP.
