Family is one of the most important things to me, I love hanging out with my sisters and going places with them. I've learned to appreciate true quality time because two oldest sisters moved out so I don't get to see them as much. But when I do we have the best time.

I love spending time with friends and just being able to talk to them about anything whether I'm excited about it or stressed, be used I feel as though they never judge me and always try to understand where I am coming from. As well as how coming to Hinsdale south has introduced me to meeting many new people

Travelling is one of me and my families favorite activities to do. We try to explore somewhere new each summer whether the place is somewhere known and popular or it may be new and small, but it's something to explore. We can experience new cultures through travelling and seeing places we don't know much about.

I think its intriguing and fun to try new foods. Trying new foods has led me to enjoy and be introduced to many of my now-favorite foods. I like how each food comes from its own culture and has a background. Trying new foods is a way of opening up to experience what other parts of the world is like.

Each summer me and my mom go to Syria to visit my moms side of the family. Every time I go I love to compare the differences between the culture their and the culture I am used to. I also have met a lot of people in my community because we share the same ethnicity so we can relate to one another. So being Syrian has made me who I am because it let me experience a new culture and way of life.

Speaking Arabic has opened a whole new world for me. At home most of the time I speak Arabic because that is my parents native language and they prefer to talk in Arabic to also help me get used to it. Every summer when I go to Syria I have to talk in Arabic because it is the only language my family that lives there speaks. So it helps me connect with them and talk and tell stories.

Sport

Playing volleyball is a way for me to use my energy and be productive while having fun and playing my favorite sport. I have met many of my closest friends through volleyball and we have made many memories as a team. We would treat each other as if we were one big family because that what you would have to do to play good and communicate well during the game.

Being Muslim is a huge part of my life because it has shaped me in so many ways to be the way I am. It is part of my daily life and is constantly a part of the decisions I make. I have gotten to participate in important holidays like Ramadan and Eid and I love going to the mosque and connecting with my religion

I grew up and am still growing up as a gen Z. As a gen Z we got to grow up with technology just as it was becoming popular. So we got to see the evolution of technology over the span of our lives so far. But in our daily lives, technology takes a huge part in everything, it is some peoples main way of communication toward others.

I would say my taste in music defines who I am, and you could kind of tell the type of energy I have just based on what music I listen to. I choose to listen to calmer songs that have a good beat and I can listen to them while doing something important, meaning the song is not too distracting, but I would still be able to sing along without putting too much effort into it.
